This unit aims to understand the importance of having a life with rules and limits, and to develop strategies in order to adequately deal with the emotions of frustration.

Learning Objectives

  • To identify what rules and boundaries are.
  • To understand the importance played by rules and boundaries in our lives.
  • To understand the meaning and importance of authority figures in our lives.
  • To promote the value of respect for authority.
  • To identify the emotions felt by pupils during situations in which rules must be followed.
  • To learn strategies which they can use to deal appropriately with emotions of anger, rage or frustration.
  • To understand the effect of screens on children’s development.
  • To identify the difference between positive and negative screen use.
  • To recognise positive uses of technology, such as learning and developing new skills.
  • To promote good practices in using technology as a channel for learning.
  • To understand the concept of creativity.
  • To promote creative thinking as a strategy for enhancing the use of free time.
  • To learn about non-screen recreational activities.
  • To encourage the use of free time in a positive and recreational way through new activities.
